About us
Immersed in the Baraggia
The Società Agricola Montana was founded in 2008 by Giovanni Reggiani with the aim of raising purebred Scottish Highland cattle. In 2011, the company acquired its first site on the hills of Mottalciata, in the province of Biella: Cascina Piana, adjacent to the magnificent Baraggia park, to offer the herd the space needed to spend the winter. In addition to the meadows and woods, there is an ancient vineyard, 70 years old, about half a hectare of pure Nebbiolo.
Nebbiolo Coste della Sesia D.O.C. BIO wine
Given the great quality of the wine produced, it was decided to invest in this new project. This is how Druma was born, our line of Nebbiolo Coste della Sesia D.O.C. BIO wine. In 2014, Società Agricola Montana s.r.l. undertook the first expansion of the historic vineyard and the construction of the Cascina Piana winemaking cellar. The particular formation of the clayey and sandy soil, the South/South-West exposure and the scrupulous manual work in the vineyard determine the high quality of our Nebbiolo of upper Piemonte. The vineyard will be further expanded in 2019, reaching a current production developed on three hectares of land, from which four varieties of wine are obtained: “Druma”, “Druma Fiorita”, “Druma Vispa” and “Druma Rosa”.
